my life coach is jesus

By fully living out these apparently simple maxims, we start to understand what it means to be Jesus to the world. Taken to its natural conclusion, to be a Christian (which translates as a little Christ) results in an unconditional, sacrificial love best embodied in the Jesus’ words and actions,

“there’s no greater love than to lay down one’s life for another.”

So while we may have spent many restless hours pondering what this life is all about and stressing out about how we’re supposed to specifically live it out, the instructions are clear and simple. So don’t fret about what you’re supposed to do with your life! Whether you’re a plumber or an architect doesn’t matter so much! What matters is HOW you respond to his universal mission.  Now, that doesn’t mean they are easy to live out but we have no excuse for not knowing what He asks of us.

As my life coach Jesus once told me,

"For which one of you, when he wants to build a tower

does not first sit down and calculate the cost to

see if he has enough to complete it?” Luke 14:28

Now, he’s talking primarily about whether we understand the commitment required to live fully for God and this same lesson applies to our personal mission.  How can we live out our personal mission for God without understanding the requirements? If God is calling us to be a doctor to serve the poor, a GED won’t suffice. If we are to be a tower for God, we have to DISCOVER, DISCERN and DECIDE His plan for us.

With this firm foundation in place, you are ready to tackle your Personal Mission!

Part 3: Personal Mission- Intro

all of life’s biggest questions are answered in TWO simple phrases

Before we dive into our personal strategic plan, we need to understand what God asks of us regardless of whether we’re a teacher or engineer.  Every great strategic plan starts with a vision; an ideal that gives us focus and stretches us to achieve its intended perfection.

Our Vision is to be in complete union with God which Jesus makes possible.

If Jesus is who he claims to be, not only is he the redeemer of the world but he also clearly calls us to be not only like him, but to BE him to the world.  He concisely commands to us to act according to two principles that I call the universal mission. Jesus, being the great life coach he is, outlines our Universal Mission:

(1) Love God with all your heart, mind and strength.

(2) Love your neighbor as yourself.
